Game options adjustable from the main screen:

• various Pit's dimensions- from (W3,H3,D3) to (W7,H7,D10)
• rich Blocks' set in 3 categories "Simple", "Flat" and "Complex"
• keeps separate high score for all 45 combinations of  pit's size and blocks type 
• 10 falling speeds, Practice ( non-falling ) mode. Select [PR] for Speed to activate this mode.  You can change the speed even during the game!
• Initial filling with blocks (BlockIn Game)

Advanced controls:

• control with the stylus and the toolbar. The toolbar can be placed on the left if you are left handed. Tap Advanced | Controls to set-up this.
• alternative control with Palm hard&silk buttons

Updates

• 3DBlock-OS50-HiRes.prc if your device is a high-resolution PDA (Tungsten, Zire, Clie, etc.), running OS 5.x or newer
• 3DBlock-Treo600.prc - for Treo600 smartphones. This is a special low-res version with all other benefits of the OS5 version (WAV sound, smooth animation, 5way control).
• 3DBlock-OS30.prc - for any other Palm OS device. Min. PalmOS 3.0. The High Resolution support for Handera 330 is implemented within this version.

The files above will appear as 3DBlock icon (rounded with dots)  on the Application Screen of your Palm. This application is a self-extracting PalmOS installation. Start it once and it will extract two files - 3DBlockout and PToolboxLib.

Upgrade of an old version: Install the new version over the previous one. This will preserve your registration status, if you a registered user.

Do not install an old version of 3D Blockout over newer version!

System requirements: any hardware, min. Palm OS 3.0

Read the troubleshooting note if :

• you want to install this game to a memory expansion card
• you have other applications installed that require PToolboxLib graphics library

General installation instructions for newbies:
Start your Palm Desktop application on the PC.
To install the file to your handheld, choose the game file, for example,
 3DBlock-OS30.prc
and run it using Explorer, command line, or your favorite file manager. Palm Software Installation utility will prompt you with other installation options.  Then put your Palm in the cradle and press the hotsync button there. The "3D Block" icon will appear when you start your PDA after that

You can beam this application to a friend. Beam both 3DBlockout and PToolboxLib applications

Uninstall
Press Menu | Delete from the Application launcher:
1. Delete 3DBlockout itself.
2. Delete PToolboxLib shared library if there are not other color games that require it

The player must place 3D pieces (polycubes) by translations and rotations in order to fill the game floor.
When the piece is in the right position you can drop it down (click on the correspondent toolbar button, or the alternative Silk Button).

If the rotation or translation is not possible, because of the existing neighbor cubes, try to move the piece around to find enough room for the rotation you need, or try another type of rotation, or change the rotation direction (clockwise/counter-clockwise). 3D Blockout shows one of the intersected cubes in yellow. Also if you hold down the corresponding button for 4 hits, 3D Blockout will demonstrate the full impossible rotation/translation of the piece and will return it back to the initial position.

The game ends when there is no space for a new piece.
By default the game starts at the slowest Speed No 1. You can change this by selecting faster initial speed.
The screenshot at the beginning of this file explains everything better.
 
We have two game modes  - a "Tour game" and a "Practice game".
The difference between them is that the "Tour game" scoring results are qualified for the High Score, but the "Practice game" not.
By default you start each new game as a "Tour game" , unless you have selected a NON-FALLING mode (Speed=PR).
If you invoke the Preferences panel during the game (using the 9-th toolbar button) and change the falling speed , this game becomes a "Practice game".

Scoring (changed in ver. 5.0)

• 10 points for every cube that falls down (i.e. if an L-shaped object made of three cubes falls down you get 30 points).
• 1 point for every vertical unit distance that a falling shape travels down after being dropped.
• If one plane is removed then you get 10*PlaneSurface points where PlaneSurface is the number of cubes on one plane (i.e. in a 4x4 game the PlaneSurface will be 16).
• If two planes are removed at the same time then you get 10*4*PlaneSurface points.
• If three planes are removed then you get 10*9*PlaneSurface points.
• If four planes are removed then you get 10*16*PlaneSurface points.
• If you manage to completely clear all cubes of the play area by removing some planes then you get a bonus of 800 points.

Every score item listed above is also multiplied with a factor that depends on speed. The factor is 1 at lowest speed (at which the game starts). The factor is 5 at highest speed.

As the game progresses speed will gradually increase.

Start 3D Blockout. Tap on the "Register" button on the first game screen to enter your registration code.

Troubleshooting. Compatibility
1.If  you have puchased the game, but the registration code does not work:

1.1. Don't Panic.
1.2. Enter the code again. If the problem persist:
1.2 The most possible reason is that you did not fill-in your CORRECT Palm Hotsync Username when you purchased. You may see it when you tap "Register" button on the first game screen.
Please re-send it to support@pda3dware.com EXACTLY AS YOU SEE IT. It is case-sensitive and all punctuation and spaces are important.
If you request a new reg. code you MUST mention also your Software Order Number  in order our support team to recognize your order as valid. Please allow 24-48 hours for processing your support request.

3. Compatibility with other 3-rd party software
3D Blockout is not compatible with old versions of CJKOS - a localization hack for Chinese/Japanese/Korean.Using of CJKOS ver. 4.21 or newer resolve this issue.

5. If none of the above is valid, but the application didn't start:
Disable all HackMaster or X-master  extensions and restart the game.
